This workshop was about adaptation and implementation of Irenia methodology, an UNAOC-BMW Intercultural Innovation Award programme of intercultural activities focused on the Mediterranean region, aimed at primary schools class-groups (6-12 years old children) and youth clubs using games as methodological tools.
This project is currently being implemented in Spain, Tunisia & Jordan and is funded by Anna Lindh Foundation.
Sawa Ben3ish was organized by I-Dare as part of an international project resulted from a long term project "Living together in the Mediterranean" which was launched in 2003 in Catalunya by Irenia. Irenia is specialized in designing and implementing pedagogical games for youth and children education about different themes.
In 2011-2012, I-Dare orgnisaiton and in cooperation with Irenia implemented a networking and partnership building meeting with orgnisations from Romania, Tunisia, Italy, Greece, Egypt, and England where we launched the network of "Living together in the Mediterranean".
In April 2013 and during the ALF Forum in Marseille, I-Dare and Irenia presented this network as a model for regional dialogue.
In fact, Sawa Ben3ish is the name given to the phase to be implemented in Jordan as part of an Anna Lindh Funded Euromed project to a coalition led by Molins De Rei from Catalonia/ Spain and in partnership with the Institute for Leadership of Excellence from Jordan, and Justice organisaitons from Tunisia.
